Hello! Welcome to my website!
I'm Joe - a British boy with a computer and an unfocused brain!
I've been 'creating' for as long as I can remember. My brother introduced me to YouTube at a very early age, and after begging my parents, I created a YouTube channel, called JoeWobbler (a really stupid name my Dad and I came up with when creating an account for Club Penguin).
I've never been one for 'consistency' when it comes to creativity. There's never been one discipline I've been able to hone in on and master - a real 'jack of all trades, master of none'.
For many years I've struggled with this creative inconsistency: Up until 2020, I was sure I wanted to be a gaming YouTuber. Then, I discovered video-essays, and decided I wanted to make video-essays. Then, after writing a few essays (and releasing even fewer), I decided I wanted to go back to making gaming videos. Around 2021 I wanted to be as big as possible, and I started to study the 'YouTube algorithm' to try and become as big as possible. I also decided I'd focus on one game - Minecraft.
Then, my situation at home drastically and suddenly changed, and new responsibilities were thrust upon me. I took time away from my creative hobbies and focused on helping my family.
As I got used to living in this new situation, I found myself feeling ready to start creating again. And, with my family's encouragement, as well as access to a new space dedicated to my creative hobbies (an office in my garden), I started creating again!
This time, I created differently. I didn't care as much about numbers or metrics. Instead, I was dedicated to just 'creating for the sake of it'.
It felt like a new age for my YouTube channel, and I called it 'New Wave Wobbler', with the motto 'whatever, whenever'.
Cut to today (2024). I'm still making videos on two separate channels ('JoeWobbler' for silly gaming moments, 'joe bh' for more artsy, high-effort stuff). But I need something more: YouTube isn't my only creative hobby, but it is my only output. I have so many interests: I love making graphics in Photoshop; I'm going to university soon to study Film and would love to write/direct screenplays; I want to improve my essay writing. I want to show off all these things, but I can't do it all on YouTube.
That's why I have created this website, to catalogue every creative project in one single place, no matter how different it may be from the last.
The home page will act as a blog: a place to babble about anything I feel like sharing - Imagine Twitter if Elon Musk was the only one allowed to post (don't worry, that's the only time I'll ever compare myself to Elon Musk. Unless I start making cars... or I become a twat)
Use the navigation buttons at the top of the page and have a look around!
